Asia Pacific Broadcasting Union -ABU SONIC International Radio Drama Festival,  is being held on November 27-29, 2017 in Yogyakarta. Through the festival, it is hoped that the radio practitioners who involved in the eventcan share their experiences and knowledge that can bring progress in the future. This was conveyed by the Chairman of Supervisory Board of Radio Republik Indonesia - RRI, Mistam, in his speech at the opening of ABU Sonic in Yogyakarta, Monday, November 27, 2017.

“This different become one of RRI missions, we believe with the presence of radio drama practitioners from foreign countries in Yogyakarta, not only to attend the radio drama festival, but alsoto exchange experience, knowledge, and planning for the future to be more spectacular and better. The difference will bring better improvement for the future,” said Mistam.

The International Radio Drama Festival -ABU Sonic consists of 5 categories namely  long form drama, mini drama, Radio-based Multimedia Drama, Radio Drama Youth Award and Documenter Drama.  The Festival is participated in by participants from Indonesia, Malaysia, Hong Kong and Rumania.
