Indonesia and Kazakhstan must increase bilateral cooperation. That was stated by Indonesian Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Ignasius Jonan in his remarks during the commemoration of Independence Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Jakarta, on Monday (27/11). According to Minister Ignasius Jonan, there are plenty of cooperation potential to be increased by both countries in various sectors, such as the sector of energy.
“In the field of energy, there are plenty of opportunities to build bilateral cooperations. Similar to Indonesia, Kazakhstan is an oil and gas, as well as mineral producer. But more, as growing economies, countries will face similar challenges on securing energy supply and growing energy demands respectively. I believe the collaborations in energy sector would be beneficial for both countries in order to ensure energy security and boost economic growth. So, the supply gas from outside Indonesia are trying now to come to Indonesia within more competitive price from the middle east. I think we should look at Kazakhstan in this regard,” said the Minister.
Meanwhile in tourism sector, Minister Ignasius Jonan expected more tourists coming from Kazakhstan to Indonesia. In his remarks, the Minister also promised to visit Kazakhstan next year// Trans.Steve
